Vista at the Trafalgar Hotel London. For Hilton International
This prestigious project was to create a new roof terrace 7 stories up over looking Trafalgar square.
We created a new entrance area and toilets on the 6th floor and a new steel arrival staircase to gain access to the 7th floor terrace.
The terrace was composite decking on pads over the existing asphalt roof including fixed seating, planters, bar etc.
The main challenge was only having 4 weeks on site and the only access being via the goods lift and a lightweight scaffold hoist, therefore all materials and in particular the steel staircase had to be delivered in small pieces and built on site.
The Vista has been so successful that we are set to undertake phase II comprising of extending the roof terrace to the whole roof which will require a new steel floor to take the weight of the users.
