New Bed Store & Workshop Colchester General Hospital for NHS Foundation Trust

This new Bed Store was a Design & Build project the main challenge being timescales. We had to get the extension designed and on site in 4 weeks and only had a 10 week construction period. This influenced the design so for speed we specified a reinforced raft foundation and gluelam timber beam frame. The walls were finished with Stericlad plastic cladding for hygiene. There was also extensive mechanical works and ventilation again designed in house.
